Introduction for Technical Report

This report is written in response to a call for a design proposal to enhance current engineering processes in concrete construction. It aims to introduce Sika, a global leader in construction chemicals and material solutions, to an innovative enhancement for their robotic arm-based 3D concrete printer, the integration of a CO₂ pump system to improve the strength and sustainability of printed concrete. Sika’s robotic 3D concrete printing technology has redefined modern construction, offering faster, more efficient, and highly customizable building solutions. This automated system eliminates traditional formwork, reduces material waste, and enables the creation of complex architectural structures with precision (Sika Singapore, n.d.). However, further advancements in material composition and curing techniques can enhance both the mechanical performance and environmental sustainability of 3D-printed concrete. One promising approach to achieving stronger, more sustainable concrete i...

Individual Research contributions to Group Project- Engineers Assemble

Date 28/02/25: Concept Development: I utilized ChatGPT to help brainstorm and explore different ideas for our team project. After narrowing down the options, I worked on putting together the proposal based on the research I gathered.  Contributed to the Team minutes by adding the proposal. Refined the the Ideal section of the problem statement  Date 06/03/25 Technical Report : Researched on the Sika's Robotic Arm 3D printer and contributed by writing about Sika's Robotic Arm in the report. Researched on how Co2 strengthens the concrete and contributed by helping to write the Background in the report. Participated in the 2 group meetings on Discord. Posted the Introduction on the blog. Researched on our Proposed solution and helped my team mates. Date 10/03/25 Technical Report: Researched additional references and wrote about the benefits of our solution in the report.
